The University of Applied Sciences HTW Chur is a regional University with national as well as international reputation. The HTW Chur offers education, services, research and development in several department areas. The tourism department along with its institute is one of them. During the last couple of years, this department has had a strong growth and become one of the strongest areas of the HTW.
The University of Applied Sciences HTW Chur was founded in 1963, as an institute of technology. It was converted to its current form, as a University of Applied Sciences, in the year 2010. 1,600 students are currently studying there in five Bachelor study courses and several master programmes. The seven institutes at the university are actively involved in applied research and development to guarantee the knowledge and technology transfer to the Swiss economy.
